The foundation: nearly two decades as a Netherlands Marine Corps officer, with an operational record in amphibious and maritime special operations. The final years were spent turning that experience into concept and capability development, with unmanned systems as the main effort. That work meant engaging research institutes daily, and it taught us to be selective: to see which institute and which knowledge actually matter to a capability question, and which do not.
